Ice maker stopped working. Noticed the gear was broken. Ordered new Motor Module AP3177342 (8201515). Replaced part and the ice maker still not working. Water dispenser in door works, however, it does not appear that water is going up to ice maker. Does not appear to have frozen line either. Any suggestions? Thank you

Open the freezer door and monitor the "status" LED on the right side.
Press in the emitter flapper door on the left side to unblock the optics beam and view the "status" LED.
Post you findings.

Husband said he had already tested that per the papers that were attached to fridge. Indicating optics were working.
Results were...two pulses followed by a delay and when emitter flapper door was pressed to unblock beam it stayed on solid.
Do you think we should have ordered the complete ice maker rather then the Motor Module?
Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you for your assistance. In most cases replacing the whole ice maker is more reliable and finally more cost efficient due to complicated and very often improper ice maker diagnosis. In your situation, before the final decision, I would recommend to check the water inlet valve first. Locate the water inlet valve on the back of the fridge and check the ice maker supply coil for continuity. Replace the water inlet valve if it's open. If it's closed, most likely the problem is a bad ice maker - The part number for the water inlet valve is AP3160649 - The part number for the ice maker is AP4318635 Gene.

Thank you we will check that tonight. Do you know if we can return the Motor Module and then order the complete Ice Maker if need be?

You have to call the customer service regarding their return policy.
