I have an Americana stove made by GE. One of my burner stop working, I noticed the element is brioken so I changed the element and plug but it's not working but the light on the dash stay red. There is no power from the plug, could it be the control switch? Please reply.

Remove the heating element and check for 240VAC at the receptacle block terminals while the switch is in "Hi" position. If there is no 240VAC then check for burned wires at the receptacle block and receptacle block itself. If there is nothing wrong then replace the switch. - The part number for the large burner switch is AP2024074 - The part number for the small burner switch is AP2024071 - The part number for the receptacle block is AP3203326 Gene.
