Dryer on/off knob was hard to use to the point where it would not work anymore. Replaced the timer and dryer would only run in the cool down cycle. Replaced the sensor and still dryer will only work in the cool down cycle. Had both fuses checked and they are both fine. Any idea on what we can troubleshoot now? The old sensor does look dark in one area like maybe it shorted out.

Sounds like you either got a bad timer, or the wrong one.
