Part 1. So my Maytag Dependable Care Quiet Plus (Model No. MDE9606AYW) that came with my house broke (the belt broke). I took it apart according to the following hyperlink's instructions (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THirzPwegkY) and clearly the belt had broken because the rollers it rested on were old and worn. I replaced the belt, idler pulley, and two rollers with some new grease and gave the interior a MUCH needed vacuuming because there was lint all over (interior underneath the drum). I put it back together and it turned on fine. I drank a celebratory beer and went to sleep.
Part 2. My wife tried to use it the next day, and it wouldn't start. The cycle selector knob also wasn't making the usual bell ring when we spun it through the cycles. The door light still worked, and I didn't disconnect any of the electric when I fixed it in Part 1. I pulled up my altimeter and validated that the start button still worked, as well as the door switch. I put the electronics panel back on, and then began to take apart the machine per the above youtube video. Now, after I took off the first screw (one of the screws that holds the front panel to the machine), I tested to see if it worked, and like magic it did. I drank an angry beer and went to sleep.
Part 3. The machine worked wonderfully for about a week, 4-5 loads before it just stopped again. Cycle selector doesn't ring (as in part 1), door light still works (as in part 1), and I can't seem to figure out the issue. I took it back apart and reviewed the switches in the electric panel on top, those seem to work, and checked all interior electric connectors I could. All seem to be connected fine. I didn't drink any beer and am now on the internet.
Not sure what I would have done to break it in an entirely new way, but any help would be much appreciated. I included a picture of the temperamental beast (no pun intended) for fun.
