direct drive coupler was broken replaced, still makes noise on ageitate
cycle, dissassembled ageitator no broken parts cams all work ok.
seems to go forward fine makes gringing noise in other direction,
knots up clothes around agitator?
any ideas?
please help cant afford to replace at this time

It is very difficult for us to comment intelligently on grinding noises because we need to be there to listen to the type of noise and its source, and we are not there, are we.
Since your clothes are interacting with the agitator, I would start by removing the agitator and tub and checking the drive block. You will need a special spanner wrench to get off a spanner nut and remove the basket.
If this checks out ok I would remove the cabinet, by pass the lid switch and operate the machine to see if the sound is in the pump, motor or transmission.
