I have had this front load Maytag Neptune 8700 for 6 or 7 years. Have had a service call on the pump with coins in it a few years back. About a week ago it started to leak from the motor. The hose clamp was week and i replaced it with a regular hose clamp and all was ok, or so I thought. I got home last night and no power to the unit. The outlet had power and tested power all the way to the circuit board and had power there. No lights, no codes, no bells, no nothing. It's as if the unit is unplugged. It appeared to have stopped while washing a load of clothes. Clothes are in there with water and the door is locked and I can not open it. I have looked online and find a lot about wax motors but from what I can find, this unit does not have a wax motor on the door lock. I can not find a release for the door to get it open nor can I find a fuse to replace. Absolutely no burnt smell or scorched areas on the circuit board. Any ideas? Danny

Sounds like you have a complete control board failure. Here is the service mjanual which will show you how to do some tests and how to replace it. http://www.servicematters.com/m...ibrary/docs/16026126.pdfI think on this model that if you remove the top you can reach down to the door lock assembly and pull gently on a tab that will release the door.
