So I replaced the water inlet valve because the old one had no continuity. It worked! Yay! Once...... now the new valve which passes the continuity check just hums. I manually changed the float and that seems turn off and on the now humming water inlet valve. Any ideas what could be wrong? Did the new valve fail after one use?

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool DU850SWPQ4 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the wiring diagram. Check the voltage across the water valve when it is on. If it is 120 volts then there is a problem with the valve. Could be that when you replaced the valve that some scale got loose from the pipes and is now plugging the valve or at least causing problems. Remove the valve and check/clean the screen filter on the input side. Do not remove it as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could cause a flood. If the filter is clean then my guess is that the valve is defective. |

You are welcome.
And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause. |
