I noticed the fridge was warm and wasn't kicking in. I turning the temp off and on and it ran for a bit then off again. I pulled it away from the wall and the fan was running but nothing else. I unplugged it, cleaned everything and plugged it back in and it ran for about 2 hours and got a bit cool then off again. Now, it doesn't do anything, no fan or anything. Any ideas as to where i start to diagnose?

Anyone got any ideas on where I should start? Or is it worth fixing?

Locate your defrost timer and turn it, maybe it's stuck in defrost.

Ok, so I know its been a while, but I'm back on getting this fridge going (or at least try) and have looked at all the avenues. I've checked the defrost timer, checks out ok. checked the defrost thermostat and is ok. I've checked the compressor and get a reading on all 3 posts, I've checked continuity on the relay and its ok. What's left to check? when I plug it in I get lights in the fridge, but nothing else. No clicks, no fans, nothing. I turn the dials to off or zero and then on and still nothing. Any ideas?

My buddy is going to come over with his truck tonight and load this fridge up for the junkyard. I thought I'd throw it out there to make sure I'm not missing something simple, or maybe checked something incorrectly?

I cannot find much on this unit but it looks like it has an analogue temperature control/thermostat.
Unplug the unit. Short the two wire at the control thermostat. You may have to tape them so they do not short to anything else. Plug the unit in and see what happens.
If nothing then leave it plugged in and rotate the defrost timer cam slowly 360 degrees.
if nothing then I would junk it. |

Thanks for the suggestion denman...I'll see if I can locate the two wire and try that as soon as I get home.
