Any ideas on why the ice maker suddenly stopped working?

I've found that sometimes there's what I define as a 'nuisance' with the water fill to the maker... Water goes to the icemaker after a 'harvest' for the next cycle and once in awhile it trickles in just enough to freeze inside the entrance tube and eventually plug up... Blame it on low water pressure, a semi-plugged screen in the water valve, etc., etc... Either way once the ice is there it takes heat to remove it otherwise you will not get any more water to the maker to do what you want it do.. To eliminate this possibility then remove the ice bin assembly and water fill tube to the ice maker inside the freezer for inspection with a flashlight.. If ice is present turn off fridge and use a hair dryer to clear the entry tubing of ice buildup... Return to normal operation and wait to see if ice making resumes... If it's a nuisance then the problem won't happen again soon, if it does then further troubleshooting is necessary... Cheers, kooler
