[COLOR="Blue"]I found a temperature control at Sears, is that the same thing that you previously mentioned as the control thermostat?[/COLOR] Below is the control thermostat I was referring to. It controls the temperature in the freezer. Click on the picture for more info about the parts. Part number: AP3964661

It is clipped onto the top of the evaporator coils. It's function is to open just above freezing (when the ice has melted off the coils), killing power to the defrost heater. This prevents the defrost from putting too much heat into the freezer. |
