Confused here on this timer. everywhere online says I need this replacement timer WH12X10300. Ordered it up, received it. Pulled out the old timer and the mounting tabs are incorrect on the new one. Plugged it in to see if it would work without mounting and nothing happens when I rotate and pull out the knob. Put the old one back in and the unit works (but doesnt advance). I cant find any other timers that are the same as the original. Here are the numbers off the back of the original timer:

Kingston 71565 A03027
7078B GE 175D5749P 008 M298

I have tried googling all of these part numbers and come up with nothing. Not sure where I can find the part to my machine. Any help would be appreciated.

The correct timer part no for that washer is WH12X10350

Oops, sorry, that is for the WHDSR316 series. The WH12X10300 seems to be the correct part number.

Does the replacement timer you got (WH12X10300) physically look the same as your original?

When I do a search of you washer model on the GE parts website, it doesn't come up. They show the 315 series with the following suffix's. D0WW, D5WW, DAWW, DBWW, DCWW, and DDWW. The first two use timer model WH12X10254 and the others use WH12X10300.

If the WH12X10300 doesn't look the same as your original, take a look at the WH12X10254 for comparison.

Physically it looks identical to the 10300 but the mounting tabs are in the wrong place. Original in the machine has one tab to the right of the dial post. The 10300 has two and lacks the circular tabs the unit rotates into above and below the dial post. The electrical connection looks identical but when I hook it up nothing happens with the 10300. Close but no cigar...

I looked online at a pic of the 10254 timer and it looks signficantly different.
