hello, i recently moved into a new home that has a kenmore elite gas stove.
the burners all work, the led display works as well, but the oven won't go on. are there any fuses in this unit or some kind of reset switch? is there a way to pull any codes from this unit? there are no codes showing.
i have never had a gas appliance before so i am kind of lost. thanks in advance for any help.:confused:

The C means Canada which usually means to technical data is available on line but got lucky here (I hope). This probably is why you did not get a response earlier.

It is actually a Frigidaire unit.

Here is the wiring diagram.
The oven is electrical so I would start by checking the power to the unit.
The control/ lights etc use 120 volts but the oven elements require the full 240.

Does the oven show that it is ready. If it does then it could be the oven sensor.

If unit stays in preheat (never ready) then I would look at the following.

Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
Check the voltage at the plug
L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
Do this with the heater off and on.

Next would be thermal circuit breaker. Below is a picture of what it probably looks like. Not so lucky here as I cannot find a parts breakdown for the unit so I do not know where it is located. Usually they are attached to the back/outside of the oven cavity.
It should be 0 ohms.

Not sure what you mean by "all of the led shows ready".
Most ovens have some indication of when the oven is up to set temperature, is that what you mean?

May be a preheat light that turns off or a ready light that turns on.
I cannot find an operators manual for the unit so do not know what the above should be.

If the unit thinks it is ready (at set point) then the elements will not come on.

OK, then my earlier post is still OK.
Check the power first and then thermal circuit breaker next.

If the unit stropped after a self clean cycle then odds are the thermal circuit breaker popped.

If it is open (infinite ohms) it would be a good idea to get an oven thermometer so you can monitor the actual oven temperature. A bad oven sensor can cause the oven to over heat and blow the thermal breaker.

As you can see the thermal breaker is wired in series with the bake, broil and the convection elements.
