Here is your parts breakdown. Replacement parts for Whirlpool KSRA25ILSS13 REFRIGERATOR | AppliancePartsPros.comLooks like there is a vent lower down on the wall between the freezer and fresh food sides. Check that it is not being blocked by food etc. If blocked then cold air can collect at the bottom of the fresh food side and freeze food. See the attachment for the tech sheet. Try running the diagnostics. Adjust the fresh food temperature to see if the diffuser/damper (Item 15 in Section 10) closes. If you click on it's picture a new page will open with a Q&A section. For some reason I cannot attach the tech sheet so I hope you have found it. I will try starting another post to attach it. |

hi, thanks for responding. Was camping so now am back and will try tomorrow your suggestions. But right before I left I ran the diagnostics. The air baffle seems to be the only thing not working. The fan worked when I ran it alone but did not work when with the baffle , number 5, I think. So knowing this, should just replace the air baffle?? Debbie

The fan and baffle are controlled seperately so I am not sure what is happening here. |

What I mean is that number 5 on the diagnostic test is to test the air baffle. That is the only test that did not work. I had another set of instructions that said the fan motor should come on when on test #5,,,it did not. However the fan worked when it was tested earlier in the diagnostics (when tested by itself) So thats why I ask if I should remove and test air baffle. And how do I do this? Debbie,,,,thanks

Here is a manual which should help http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=215You may hav to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a good site for the appliance DIYer. You will need a meter to check the switch and to check for power to the motor when in test 5 Looks like S2 baffle should be closed (0 ohms) when the baffle door is fully open. Also it is open (infinite ohms) when the door is fully closed or opening. |

HI, Just wanted to tell you that when the power is on,,,and in Diagnostic Test 5 , I hear baffle motor trying to come and black wire tests hot and yellow/red (switch , I think) tests not hot . So to test the baffle/diffuser we should put ohm meter probe on black and the other on yellow /red,,,With power on and in Test 5,,,correct?? I didn't want to hurt anything else.

So to test the baffle/diffuser we should put ohm meter probe on black and the other on yellow /red,,,With power on and in Test 5,,,correct?? No. You cannot use ohms (resistance) with the power on. It could blow your meter.
Also,,,can we take motor apart and fix something in it rather that replaying whole baffle/diffuser part.?? Individual parts for the motor/baffle are not available.
Looking back at your original post you did say that the freezer was too cold. The baffle does not effect this so you may have more than one problem. The freezer should be between 0 and 5 degrees F.
Also if you click on the below picture of the baffle/diffuser a page will open with a Q&A section that may be helpful. |
