Our dishwasher is stuck in the drain cycle. no amount of button pushing seems to change anything.
Is there a way to override the command it is stuck in? If so, and if the situation happens again, what is the solution to the problem?

The first thing I would do is remove the toe panel and check for water in the base. The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it.

I had the same problem with my dishwasher (Bosch, SHE 45M). My solution was to cancel and change the cycle. My manual was confusing because it described the process, and had a diagram for another model dishwasher which did not match mine. On my dishwasher, there is a line drawn which says "Cancel/Reset." The line ends with dots under the "Power Scrub Plus" button and the "Regular Wash" button. I pressed both buttons at the same time and held them for 3-4 seconds, and the diswasher begin clearing the drain cycle. I was able to cut off the dishwasher and then re-start it with no problem. Hope this helps. Ken
