Compressor is warm to touch and has slight vibration. That's my determination that it is running. Any chance it might be a loss of / low on refrigerant? No signs of leakage
What would cause compressor to go out? We have always kept condenser coils and area around clean. (Wife is a clean freak)
Thanks for your reply

The compressor may be drawing current, but not running. Best thing to do if you have no amprobe is to pull the start device off the side of the compressor. If it rattles, it's blown, just order a new one.AP4367355 The item that plugs into it is the run capacitor.
