I have a Sears Coldspot 17 and the indicator light on the front of the door is blinking, What does that mean? does it mean that there is an issue or is that normal operation? being that the freezer is older than I am. I don't have a user's guide. thanks for the help.

Which light is blinking?
In order to provide the most accurate advise I need the complete model number of the unit.

I think your talking about a chest freezer. If so it,s the red/orange light on the lid of the freezer. This light is only there to tell you that there is power going to the freezer from your house plug.These lights blink when they start getting bad .There is no problem with the freezer.You could leave this light blink or you can replace it,that,s up to yourself. They don,t cost that much, and if you ever lose the power to that plug[blown fuse/breaker] you will know that there is something wrong with the outlet.
