When I tried to start my dryer this morning it wouldn't start. when I pushed the start button and turned the timer too the of position it would click like it was releasing. I took the switch out and checked it for continuity. When I pressed it, it showed it had continuity , but it does not stay engaged. Model# 11087692800

Hi Buckeye
Let's start by doing a few simple tests.
1. Use your meter to make certain you have 120 volts coming into the dryer.
2. Unplug the dryer, and tape the leads from the start switch together, then plug in the dryer. If it starts you have a bad start switch. Do not do this to operate the dryer, it is only for a test.
3. Do a continuity check on each of your thermostats and thermal fuse. If one is open, replace it.
4. Do a continuity test on your door switch. Check that you have continuity when the switch is engaged.
Let us know what you find out.
Good luck.
