Dryer will not start. Power is geting to the dryer, I have checked external fuses and circuit breakers, when door open light inside drum is on. When timer is set it can be heard running, but, when start button is pushed, nothing happens. Question is what would be the most likely cause?

The first thing I would do is remove the bottom access panel and check the belt. There is a special "broken belt switch" under the idler pulley which interrupts the power to the motor if the belt brakes. If there is nothing wrong with the belt and/or the belt switch then I would check the thermal fuse (#59 on the diagram) for continuity. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GEQ8811KQ0 | AppliancePartsPros.comGene.
