Due to Irene and the power outage cause by this Hurricane we used generator power, the refrigerator stopped working, well actual it sounds like the compressor kicks on for about 20-30 seconds and then it kicks off. The lights work and all that, going to be a bit before a repairman can get out here, so would like to do it myself. Power is back now!!!:)

Seems like a power surge hit the compressor. Try a new start device AP4009659, comes with instructions. Remember to install the run capacitor if it has one.
