please help, i am at my witts end here and the wife is going crazy...My oven will no light. I have a Magic chef 6257xus with the glow element instead of the pilot light for lighting. when the oven stopped working i replaced the regulator and that didn't work then i replaced the oven valve and that doesn't work either. there really isn't much else i can find to do. I started thinking thermostat and i found the papers on this and checked the wire schematic and from what i can tell if the element lights up then all of the electrical parts should be working fine. do you think i may have recieced a bad valve? if i break the connection between the reg. and valve i have gas flow.

Part number: AP4012072
If the igniter Does glow, that indicates the thermostat or control and wiring is OK, and working(99%). However, when the igniter glows, it must produce a minimum of 3.2 amps and 3.2 volts to the gas valve, in order to open the internal switch and release the gas for ignition. If you don't have a meter, if you observe the igniter, it should glow "white" hot in 20 to 30 seconds, (you can barely look at it)if you can look at it , if it's glowing red or orange in color , it's weak, and you need to replace it. Good Luck, :) :) :)
