Have had problems with the start buttons on both occasionally but this is just a complete absence of electrical current to both appliances. The dryer runs off a separate 220 plug and the washer is plugged into an outlet that seems to be working otherwise. Seems very strange that both should cut out together. I've checked the breakers on both circuits. The machines are about 13 years old, and I would replace them if a basic part needed changing, but this looks like a situation that might be easily addressed. . . . ?
