I've got a GE top loading washer that won't stop filling. The washer has a choice of load size (small, large, super), and it won't fill at all unless the load size is set to super. If it is set to super it will just keep filling and then eventually the washer will overflow. However, if I turn the load size selection back down to small (where it doesn't usually fill) the filling will stop, and the cycle will continue as normal and it will drain and spin properly. I think it may be an issue with the knobs that are used to select the settings as they are in terrible condition.
I'd greatly appreciate any help!

Sounds like a faulty water level pressure switch but I would first check the pressure hose and air dome on the lower left side of the outer tub. You have to remove the front panel for access. With tub empty of water, disconnect the hose from the air dome and clean out any gunk in the hose and flush out any gunk in the air dome using a turkey baster and hot water. Be careful as you don't want to break the hose nipple off of the air dome. The air dome is not removable. If the hose and/or air dome are not gunked up, then replace the switch which is behind the user control panel and is controlled by the user water level control knob.
