My Kenmore washer will not spin during a normal cycle (i.e. put the clothes in, add the soap and turn it on to wash) it agitates just fine, rinses and drains but then when it should spin the water out of the clothes it just sits there. When the cycle is complete, I can turn the dial back to spin and it will spin just fine- I just have to manually reset it to spin. The lid switch was replaced a couple years ago so I don't think that is the problem. I have read it could be the timer, clutch or trasmission. I can fix it myself if I could just figure out what to fix.

This really does sound like the timer, so change it out and see if that fixes things.
If you buy from this site and the timer does not fix the problem you can return it.
