After oven lights, it heats for a few minutes, then gas goes off. Oven thinks it still on , but doesnt get warm. Have changed control panel, no help.

Yes, I turn off at control panel, turn back on, does the same thing most of the time. It will go to intended heat about every sixth time. When it tries to reclick, sometimes it lights, sometimes not. Mostly I found out it not staying lit after it had been cooking with timer at 350*. It was only about 200*, after 30 minutes. I cleaned the igniter, bent it closer.

You have to check the Bake burner lighting holes. You can find more information in one of our previous threads: http://forum.appliancepartspros...e-will-not-stay-lit.html

- The Bake burner assembly Part number: 8191123
Part number: 8191123

I took out bake burner, drilled the 8 holes one size bigger. Oven lights, runs a few minutes, then you can hear gas valve shut off. After a minute or two, gas valve opens, tries to ignite, no flame, then gas valve shuts off again.Right now oven panel says it is at 350*, digital thermometer only showing 201*, panel says in heat mode, fan still running. Has been running for ten minutes now, shows 350* still, is 189* inside. Has not tried to reignite for more than 5 minutes.

After 15 more minutes, Oven still thinks it is on, showing 350*, fan going, is 141* inside now.

I also tested oven sensor with digital ohmeter. It shows just over 1100 ohms, close to 1200 after oven had been warm. Gas valve reading at 222 on upper connectors, 218 on lower.

Which part exactly did you replace? What is the part number?

I replaced the control panel. I had a new one I got from Whirlpool, oven shut down last year due to self clean. They said was control panel , was thermal fuse.. Control panel part number is 9760013.

Thanks for your help

This part actually is the control board.

Do you have the same problem with the Broil?

Yes, I bought the control panel from Whirlpools advice. The oven had gone dead after self clean. When that didn't fix it, I found out the thermal fuse had blown. Couldn't return panel.
I put the original control panel back in, about the same time this oven problem began, the light bulbs stopped coming on when door is open. I don't know if any relation to oven not staying lit.

Yes , the broiler lit right up, stayed on till I turned it off.
