GE profile electric slide in range. The oven randomly shuts off by itself. The main PC board and the front touch screen have been replaced (expensive) and the oven continues to shut off for no reason. It does not happen all the time and we cannot trust this oven to cook in.
When it shuts off the display goes back to just showing the time. I had a service man do the repair and he says there is nothing else that could cause the oven to shut off. No error codes show up when the oven shuts off. This was an expensive unit but I cant keep putting money into it. What else could be causing this?

Hi.

It's very difficult to diagnose this type of the problem. My guess would be that the cooling fan at the back of the range is not properly working, slowing down or stopping, and that cause the control board to overheat and drop the program.
One other thing to check would be the wire harness.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Control Panel parts for GE JS968SK4SS - AppliancePartsPros.com

Good lock.

Post the results.

Simon.

The cooling fan works when the oven is running. All the electronics have been replaced. It looks like from the parts breakdown for the cooling that there are limiting snap thermostats. could they be the problem.
