our freezer evaporator is icing up, ive taken the panel off twice to defrost it, the second time i noticed the heater element on the bottom of the evaporator to have a slight melt condition on one of the connectors, Im thinking ill need a heater element and possable a main board, Ive also read changing the thermistor, is there something im over looking or am i on the right track, what tests can i make to confirm my guesses Thanks

Most common problem would be a burned defrost heater. Using the ohmmeter check for the continuity. If it is open-replace the defrost heater kit. The defrost heater kit Part number: AP4355467

If you have no meter, just pull it out and look at the coil, if you see a blown open section, it's bad.
