The freezer had been working fine and then one day we noticed it was not running. We took everything out, and I unplugged it and defrosted it.. When I plugged it back in it would run for a second or two and then the motor would stop. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

i would replace the overload and relay kit on the compressor. if that does not do it, you would need a new compressor, which would be best to buy a new freezer. tom applianceeducator.com - parts
