This big freezer (model: UFD-177N) came with our home we bought last year. It looks like it's in great condition. The electrical cord had been placed on top with some of it hanging to keep the door ajar. When we turned it on, major frost built up and it was noticed that the gasket was not making a tight seal at the point on top where the electrical cord had been placed. We are looking for a new gasket to fit this model. Or, if there is a way to make the current gasket go back to its original sealing capability, that would be accepted info as well.
The stores I've called say it is too old for getting a replacement and that the dimensions don't help. But, here are the dimensions of the gasket anyway: 57” tall x 30 1/2” wide x 1” thick.
Thanks.

Try heating up the bad spot with a hair dryer until it is warm perhaps you will be able to reshape it or it may just go back to it's proper shape by itself once allowed to cool.
Another possibility is to Google "freezer gaskets" as there are companies that specialize in just gaskets. |
