I replaced my older dryer with one that I had from previous marriage, and since then I get a gas smell after the load is finished ? , and maybe even while it is drying . (a little) I have used up three bottles of soapy water and cannot find a leak, but it is surely there. I have a shutoff about five feet from dryer and have no smell while its off, and ditto if I leave this one on and turn off the one on the valve assembly. I know the valve assembly is SUPPOSED to automatically shut off at end of cycle, but CAN it stay open ? Thank You.

Hey Rich,
Did you resolve your dryer gas problem? I have very similar problems with a 20 or so year old Kenmore dryer and haven't yet looked into the problem. I put a new valve on the wall and new flex two years ago so I doubt those are the problems. The dryer works great. Only had to replace the belt and a tensioner a few years ago.
Thank!
