Freezer is not working at all - refrigerator is cooling but only slightly and intermitently. Checked relay - heard no rattle so we replaced it, cleaned all dust. Still not working.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for ARS91678AB models | AppliancePartsPros.comFreezer is not working at all - refrigerator is cooling but only slightly and intermitently. I find the above confusing. Is it not working at all or is it working sometimes? The refrigerator gets it's cooling from the freezer so the freezer must be running at least partially. Could you please give a better description on what is happening. What is running and what is not (compressor, fans etc.) Here is a good site with fridge troubleshooting info http://www.applianceaid.com/frig.html |

compressor and fan are running. Refrigerator is cool - not cold. Freezer is not working at all.

Remove the cover in the freezer and take a look at your evaporator coils. If there in no frost on them then you are either out of freon or there is a clogged orifice in the sealed system. To do an actual check you will need a pro with a set of gauges. If there is frost in one area of the coils (Usually where the freon enters the coils) then you are low on freon. Note: Make sure the compressor has run for a couple hours as there will be no frost if the unit has just completed a defrost cycle.
You will need a pro to find/fix the leak, evacuate and recharge the freon. This will not be a cheap fix and it often makes more sense to invest the dollars into a new fridge.
If this unit has been moved on it's side and now will not work, did you let the unit sit for 24 hours before plugging it in? |

Does your water filter work? Is that what's causing the drip? I had to replace mine about 4 months ago and I was having similar problems. I went through **************************.com. I think part number 4396508 would work for you if you do indeed need to replace it. Hope that helps!

The compressor comes on for about 3 to 5 seconds - draws electrical power then the overload clicks and the compressor stops. It cycles this way about every 2 minutes.
