I have a dacor double oven. The upper door latch assembly went out. The dacor oven model is#PCS 2305 The part # of the latch assembly is#
ML001005 82834. I was sent a model # 86166, and told it is a factory replacement. It does not fit. Is there some work around to make it fit?

Dacor has redesigned this part and changed the part number. 86166 is the correct part number for this model number.

These instructions might help you to install it properly.

You didn't even look at what i asked about. Not the oven light! It is thelatch mechanism that is used to.. lock the oven when you use the self cleaning option. The new mechanism does not fit

It was not me! You are the one who did not read the instructions carefully. There are THREE pages and you've read only the first page.

Well reading the three pages still does not address the problem. These are 2 different mechanisms. They have a different movement. You have to look at the 2 side by side to see why this is not a good replacement. I am able to wire
the replacement unit in to make the oven work, but the door latch will not work on this oven.

You can try to call Dacor tech support. Some time they can be very helpful.
