So my whirlpool double oven ran into the same issue that it seems many peoples do - the oven stopped working during the self cleaning cycle.

I was told the oven needed a control board and door latch assembly replaced. Does that sound correct? Seems to me if the control board went out, the door latch assembly wouldn't work. Can I assume I was given the right diagnosis? or should I be skeptical...

I know this is very broad without a model# but the does the logic make sense to have both replaced? Cost differences are pretty significant to do both vs only 1.

Any help would be great!
