How often do you get water on the freezer floor or out the door ?

Is there water on the refrigerator floor ?

Are your temperatures in both the refrigerator and freezer correct ?


Your basic description, indicates that you probably have a frozen or clogged defrost drain pan and or drain tube in the freezer compartment.

You may be able to check it, by looking through the lower vent opening in the back wall of the freezer, and look for a block of ice in the pan.

You could also remove the lower back wall panel,(if it is frozen, you'll need to anyway) and use a hair dryer to melt the ice and a coat hanger( carefully) to clear any clogs in the drain tube.

You didn't answer all the questions, but

If you've performed all the previous checks I mentioned,there's only three other things to check :

The ice maker,(overfilling, leaking, splashing over).

The ice maker fill tube,(split, frozen, not seated in fill cup spout).

ice maker fill valve,( sticking open, intermittently).

I would also expect you to have other complaints, if any of these were the problem(icicles on walls, racks, ice on articles in freezer, etc.).

One other thing, check both door gaskets for proper seal, all the way around the opening.

These are the only other possibilities, that I am aware of, that would produce enough water,as you describe, in the freezer compartment only.

What do you mean"The ice maker will continue to run" ?

The ice maker itself, should run only when it needs to make ice(approximately every 60 minutes) until the bale arm is activated by the ice level in the bin, and shuts off the ice maker.

If you shorted the dispenser control board, several things could occur.

What exactly is running,
The icemaker itself, or a dispenser component(auger motor, dispenser flapper, dispenser solenoid ?

For now , and future reference,

You dispenser harness connector, is locate inside the freezer door top hinge cover. remove the cover and disconnect the harness connection, that will eliminate power to the dispenser control board, and you won't short, damage the board or dispenser components, when you're working on them.

So let us know what component seems to be running all the time and we can direct you to the proper repair.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I would have to think, you damaged the dispenser control board(the board mounted to the dispenser body).

There are 2 boards in that dispenser assembly one in the dispenser front panel, control panel board , and one on the body of the dispenser, dispenser control board, either one could be damaged, but with the description I'd have to suspect the dispenser control board.
