Gene,
I have a Whirlpool black double oven, model number RBD306PBD12. Same error code issue; unplugged the control ribbon, turned the power back on and it is now showing E1 F2 error code. Do I need the panel or the board?

Now this morning after several hours of being plugged back in the screen is blank; all there is is an occasional short beep, longer beep, beep beep beep.

The error code "F2-E1" means that the control senses the key pad ribbon cable disconnected. Inspect the ribbon cable for a hairline cracks with a magnifying glass. If there is nothing wrong, plug it back into the control board connector, power up the oven and watch the display. Try to set the time of the day. Post the result. powered up, screen lit up, then went to clock with PF message. Reset the clock and it is working fine for right now. If it does not last...???

after about 1/2 hour now, the clock display is fading out for a 1/2 second or so every so often but comes back on....
|

Most likely the problem is a bad control board, but there is a small chance for the low voltage transformer (#7 on the diagram) and the control panel to be bad as well. I would replace the control board first, hoping it will solve the problem. - The control board Part number: AP3767567

Gene. Got the part yesterday, hooked it up and all seems to be working fine. Thank you very much for your help and expertise! Anything I should watch for that might indicate another problem?

Hi Gene,
It's me again. It's been while since my last post but I took your advice and returned the control board and ordered another one (part AP3595759 (8302319). I got the new part and installed it over the weekend and I'm still getting the same E1 F5 error code. I'm running out of options here and I don't really want to buy new unit or pay an arm and a leg for someone else to fix it. Any thoughts on what I should try next? As always, your advice is greatly appreciated it. Thanks.
