My refrigerator has been making a loud banging noise when it shuts off. I don't know if it's the compressor or not. Now it's not making the noise and the food side is not really cold and the freezer side doesn't seem to be that cold. Could it be the compressor needs to be replaced or could it be something else

Odds are it is the compressor. The loud banging on shut off is usually the compressor see the following http://www.applianceaid.com/refrigerator.htmlSee Item 24. A new compressor will be expensive as you need a pro. Be sure to get a solid quote so that you can decide if it is worth the dollars or does it make more sense to put those dollars into a new unit. |
