I replaced the heating element ordered on-line. Got it installed and the dryer still does not heat up. I have checked the fuse and have continuity. What else do I need to check?

What happened with the old heating element? Did you test it?

Still have it..when I read it with a meter, it showed an open. I am getting voltage before the thermal cut-off, but not at the cutoff itself. Of course no voltage to heating element. But, the cut-off reads correctly from what the wiring diagram shows.

Can you be more specific here?

Can you refer the test points to the wiring diagram?

Gene.

At the bottom of the wiring diagram...R I guess is where I am talking about taking a reading. Have voltage up to there.

If there is the correct voltage reading at the timer terminal "R" (red) but there is nothing at the other end of the red wire at the thermal cut off, then the problem is a broken red wire.
