I have a side-by-side Frigidaire refrigerator with ice-maker Model Number MRS26LGJW2. I had to shut the water off from the house for a month for repairs. When I started the water back the icemaker will not make any ice. I pulled the refrigerator out and the top water hose going into the watermaker had popped out of the bracket. I put it back in. There was a little water in the floor but no more than a cup or so. Still nothing happening. It seems like there is no water going to the icemaker as I pulled the tube back after turning the little water valve off to check for water. There was none. I have a strong feeling that the solenoid is not working. This solenoid has three tubes: One going into the solenoid from the supply, one going to the water filter and one from the water filter back to the solenoid. There may be another going to the door but I haven't check that. Any suggestion or help.

Before going too far I would shut the water to the frig off,
then disconnect the line from the back and place it in a large bucket,
then turn the water back on and check to see if you have
adequate pressure coming from the supply line.

Thanks and Yes Glen. I did that. I have water at the supply to the fridge door for "Chilled Water"--good stream as before. I did not pull the line directly from the supply valve, but only checked the Chilled Water on the door.
The Fridge is an 2000 Model and worked beautifully till now. Where should I go from here. The Fridge is in SC and I've had to leave for about three weeks and shut the wall supply valve off till I could get back.

There should be a rubber/plastic tube that goes from the back of the
cabinet and extends through the back freezer wall and into the ice maker to feed it water. Check and see if there is any ice in it or if its blocked in any other way. If it is I'll explain how it got that way. You could take the water line loose from this feed tube and connect
something else to it and see if you can blow through it, to see if its blocked.

Glen: The fridge is in South Carolina and I'm in Tennessee now. I will be back in SC in about two weeks or so. Is there a phone number that I can call you. If you don't want to put it online, pop me a e-mail at ralmaroad@hotmail.com I do not have a computer down there. If the water line from the solenoid is froze, what should I do? If not, should I replace the solenoid--I don't know if it is a single or a double yet. I did pull the fridge out from the wall and the inlet tube to the icemaker had come off--probably from freezing when the water was off. However, I don't understand why there was not any more than a half cup ofwater in the floor. Seems like there would be a flood when that tube came off. After I had used the hair dryer to thaw the icemaker, there still was not any water coming from the tube going to the icemaker. Could I have NOT trawed the icemaker out enough or disrupted the cycle of it entirely? Thanks Roy

Glen: I called my neighbor yesterday (Saturday). He pulled out the fridge and took off that tube going to the icemaker; replaced it with a short section of 1/4" tubing. IT WAS BLOCKED as he couldn't blow through it. I told him to put the other hose back on. I assume that it is froze up. I had him to lower the freezer to the warmest position. (There isn't anything in the freezer). I'm hopeing to unthaw the tube from the back to the icemaker.
Where should I go from here?

Model # MRS22WGNW1 Ice maker not working. There seems to be a heating coil on the bottom of ice maker that is warm. Fill tube was frozen. I thawed it out and checked continuity of the water valve and it checked out ok. What next?

Roy Jacking up the freezer temp probably wont do the trick. You will need a heat source (you can use a hair blow dryer) to melt the ice in the tube to clear it up. Ok now as to why it got that way. You mentioned earlier that the water had to be shut off to the house. Now when they shut the water off there was probably still water pressure in the line going to the frig. Since the ice maker doesn’t have much flow it would take several cycles (maybe more) to actually clear it. During this time the water pressure is greatly reduced. Low water pressure can cause the sort of problem you are having. So currently the thing to do here is to clear all of the ice from the supply tube, then make sure you have good water pressure going to the frig. There’s a good chance this is all you will need to do to put things back in order.

Is it that way all of the time or did you just happen to catch the IM in the middle of a cycle?
