Gene. Hi, Gene, Received the control panel today, installed, being particularly careful with the ribbon. When I reset the breaker, that familiar series of beeps sounded, with no display appearing for about an hour now. Do I need to be patient, or should something have occurred by now? Thanks, Karen

Check the low voltage transformer (#5 on the diagram) plug connection to the control board. Check for continuity across the blue and red wires. If there is nothing wrong then looks like the control board has gone bad. - The low voltage transformer Part number: AP3968801

Thanks in advance for those that post their experiences and the experts (Gene in particular) who post great advice.Same experience as many others in this thread. 3 yr old Whirlpool oven GBD307PRS01 (Stainless) with the E6 F2 error code and symptoms many others describe.My model: Control panel parts replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GBD307PRS01 30" Built - in Electric Double Oven Convection - Upper Self - Clean (gold Line) | AppliancePartsPros.com[URL="http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?pop=true&modelNumber=GBD307PRS01"][/URL]Can someone clarify how to remove the control panel to begin the diagnostics? Here are the steps I have gathered from this thread and others:1. Remove the screw holding the each side trim. (DONE) 2. Remove both side trims by pulling them from the bottom toward yourself and down to release from the control panel tabs. (DONE) 3. Remove the screw on each side of the control panel. (No side screws, only four screws along bottom of control panel in the vented area, which I removed) 4. Pull the bottom of the control panel toward yourself and upward to release it from the side tabs. (Nervous about this step, doesn’t budge and I’m not clear on the location of the side tabs)Any thoughts out there? Thanks everyone.

thanks, Gene, for the super quick response. We have a black double over, model number RBD275PDB12. Much like several of the folks on this site, it beeps strangely, then shows the E6 F2 code. We used to be able to clear it off and then cook, but now the oven has stopped working completely. I opened the control panel to expose the control board and there were two small "cylinders" on the board which were extremely hot to the touch. I dont know if that indicates the problem is with the board (and not the panel)?
I guess my question is, with this code, do you think the problem is the board or the panel? I am trying to figure out which to replace?

Try to unplug the control panel ribbon cable from the control board, turn the power back on and watch it for a few hours. Post the results.

hey Gene, we tried that a couple days ago. I think something in your post talked about it. The "weird" thing about our oven is it is hard wired to the house and doesnt go through a breaker box. So we cant do anything about the power (or turning it off). not sure if that is weird or normal?
(by the way, I think its fantastic how you help folks find the right parts for their oven!)
