According to Whirlpool tech sheets (definitely not the best one) I would replace the control panel first, but there is a chance for the control board to be bad as well.

- The part number for the control panel is AP3131916

- The part number for the control board is AP3767567

Whirlpool RBD305PDQ8 White double oven

Hi, I bought a new control board and panel. I am wondering if there is anything more than pulling the connectors off the old board and conecting them to the new one in order to replace it. I will be very careful attaching the ribbon from the control panel to the board as I read earlier posts. Is there any particular start-up sequence once the board and panel are replaced and the power turned back on? I once read about pressing a certain sequence of buttons to start it up correctly.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

You probably have to program the cavity size when replacing the control board. The procedure should be described in the tech sheets inside the control panel. "Cavity size" means width of the oven. It can be 24", 27" or 30".

Gene, been reading along and I HAD a E6 F2 code, replaced the control board and all seemed great.. Till I tried the upper and lower ovens. Once I push the 'start' button I get an E1 F2 code now..

The oven is a Whirlpool gold double convection Model # GBD307PDS09

Any help is appreciated...

Pete

Hi Pete,

The "F2-E1" error code means:"Keypad keytail not connected".

Remove the ribbon cable from the control board and check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks using a magnifying glass. Clean the ribbon cable connector with a pencil eraser. Reconnect everything and give it a try. If it would not help then the control panel assembly has to be replaced.

Thanks for the quick reply Gene, Everything looks good on it, no fine cracks or folds, but clearly there must be an issue with it.

I'll be ordering the new panel today...

Pete

Gene
I purchased a new board and panel to fix the e6 f2 code. On the board 2 black connectors on the left hand side need to be disconnected from the old board. My part number is AP3767567.
Do I just yank them out or is there a trick? Don't want to do any damage to the connectors
Thanks
