The touch control panel on the front of the dishwasher will not function. Service tech says it's bad. Appears to be common complaint. Was there ever a recall or will Maytag replace?

There is not a recall that I know of.

Cannot comment on whether the control panel is shot as you did niot say what the tech did to troubleshoot this.
Also you did not give any specifics as to what does not work.

Other possibilities would be a bad power connection or a bad door switch or a bad control board.

The usual way to troubleshoot this is to check the control pad with a meter (see the tech sheet). If it checks out OK replace the control board.

Still a bit of a crap shoot but your odds are better.
