My Whirlpool is collecting sheets of ice on the bottom of my side by side refrigerator. i think the defrost coil may be blocked. How do I clean it?

The defrost drain hole is most likely clogged. look at the bottom of the back wall of the freezer, there is a hole that water runs down, and by now it is frozen over. You will need hot water and a turkey baster to clear the drain. Keep forcing hot water down the drain till it is clear.

Is the drain hole on the inside of the freezer?

And if I do keep putting hot water down there, where does the water go to?

Once clear, the water goes down the drain into the drain pan
