my washer will not spin or aggitate but will fill and drain and i just replaced the coupler a month ago i turned on the washer and watched under there and nothing was moving not the coupler and it makes a loud grinding type noise

If your machine will drain then the motor is operating. Take it apart and inspect the coupling close up.

Well, it is unusual to have a second break, but the coupler is the weak spot, and it is designed to be that way so the motor or transmission is not damaged.
