Installed replacement Ice Maker but it will not make ice unless I manually put water in tray. Tested water solenoid both externally and by pressing micro switch and tray filled made one cycle and stopped. Temperature around 8 degrees It appears it will not start cycle on its own starting or after it makes a manually fill batch. Everything in freezer is hard. Using well water system with water filter 20/40 setting on pump. Scratching my head. Thanks Ken Taylor

Hi Gene The micro switch is the one for the water solenoid. The old unit had the same problem. The ice maker will cycle threw one batch once water is added to the tray either manually or with the water feed micro switch. I originally thought it was the feeze thermostate then it made one cycle of ice and stopped. It appears that it will not restart the next fill cycle and it does not make small cubes it just stops running. I took the motor out of the circuit and rotated the cam manually and everything worked. I checked the motor and it runs when electric is Iapplied.

Make sure the pressure in the water supply line at the water inlet valve is between 20 psig to 100 psig and the screen inside the water valve is not blocked. Otherwise I do not see what else can cause it.

Thanks for your help Gene. I took the water valve off to check the screen first thing. I checked the water pressure and the low is 20 psi. I plan on setting it to 30/50 but we have so much snow I can not get to the pump under the house to set it up. the house does not have a basement. Thanks again
