heater element gets hot, rear of drier seems hot, but the cloths seem to take too long to dry. the inside of the drum doesnt get very warm
any ideas

The first thing I would do is check the vent hose and the vent line (all the way through the outlet) for any air flow restrictions.

The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it.
