When I override the door safety shutoff and watch the heat element it gets real hot for about a minute and shuts down. If I shut the dryer off and start right up again it does same thing. So it appears heating element is ok but something is shutting it down. Tried disconnecting some of the sensors, still acts the same. Thanks for any info Jerry

Hi Jerry,
If you run the dryer with the door open, there is no proper air flow through the heating element which cause it to overheat and the high limit thermostat turns it "off".
What was the original problem?
Gene.

The original problem is that the dryer gets warm but not hot enough to do a good job of drying clothes, it take forever to do a load, but it does get warm. It appears even with the door closed it does the same thing, heats up of a minute an shut off, thus leading to just a warm air flow?????? Thank you for your concern. Jerry

Most likely cause of this problem is a clogged exhaust line and/or air ducts inside the dryer.
