Freezer is not freezing. The fan runs in freezer. The compressor seems like it's on yet food is defrosting. It is cold in freezer.

Here are your parts Parts for Frigidaire FRS6LE4FW0 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.comI am assuming that the compressor runs all the time except when the unit goes through a defrost cycle. Check that the condenser/compressor fan is also running. Check that the condenser coils under the unit are clean. Check that the vents on the kick plate and rear cover are clean. If all OK. Remove the cover in the freezer so you can inspect the evaporator coils. If they are heavily iced/frosted over it is a defrost problem. Could be the defrost heater, defrost thermostat of defrost board. If there is frost on only one area of the coils (usually where the freon enters the coils) then it is a sealed system problem. This will be an expensive repair as you need a pro. In many cases it makes more sense to put those dollars towards a new unit. |

I am experiencing what sounds like a similar problem in my model. The fridge area is keeping food cold as normal, but the freezer is cold but not frozen. Fan is running.
