Sorry, I didn't realize I posted this in the reply section. Can someone please help me? My freezer quit working yesterday. I am going through some minor troubleshooting tips & noticed a square something stuck to the bottom and lays on the drain pan. I do not see it on the drain pan in the manual. Since it's stuck to the bottom of the refrigerator I want to make sure it's ok to remove it. It almost looks like tape, but I'm not sure.

And, outside coils did not have frost on them and there is none on the inside of the freezer.

Here are your parts, includes a wiring diagram.

Sorry but I do not know what you are referring to.
Is the drain pan under the unit?
Is it inside the freezer compartment?
Is it inside the fresh food compartment?
What color is it?
Does it look like it belongs there?

There should not be frost on coils outside the freezer.
There should be frost on the coils inside the freezer as long as the compressor is running.

Is the compressor running?
You can usually hear it but also should be able to feel it vibrating.

Is the evaporator/freezer fan running?

There seems to be a conflict between the parts list and the wiring diagram.
The diagram shows a condemnser/compressor fan but I cannot find one in the parts.
If there is one is it running?

I figured out what was stuck to the bottom of it.

"Is the compressor running? You can usually hear it but also should be able to feel it vibrating." I can feel the back of the fridge vibrating. The compressor is getting hot to the touch. (I've had it plugged in about 20 minutes).

"Is the evaporator/freezer fan running?". It is running, but the air doesn't feel cold.

This is bad news as it sounds like a sealed system problem.
It would be an expensive repair and usually it makes more sense to put the dollars towards a new unit.

Just to make sure that it is the sealed system remove the cover in the freezer so you can inspect the evaporator coils.
If there is no frost or just frost in one area (usually where the freon enters the coils) then it is a sealed system problem.

Make sure that the compressor has run for at least half an hour before doing this. If you do it shortly after or during a defrost cycle you could end up with the wrong diagnosis.
