The estate dryer (Whirlpool) will not start. I've checked the fuse box and ensured the dryer was properly plugged in. The dryer has a push to start switch and the light is on inside the dryer. How do I fix this problem?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for TEDS840PQO models | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is a tech sheet http://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%208528190.pdfYou will see a thermal fuse in the 4M line of the motor, this is an Item 7 in the "Bulkhead parts" section. Unplug the unit, remove one wire from the fuse and check it with a meter. Should be 0 ohms. This is the easiest and safest way to check it. The jiggery pokery method is: Unplug the unit. Remove the wires from the fuse and short them together. Tape them up so they cannot short to the frame/case. Plug the unit in and give it a try. If blown replace ASAP as this is a critical safety device. Give the interior a good cleaning, including the blower wheel. Also check/clean your vent system. These are the most common cause of the fuse blowing. |
