Washer Model number LSR8444Q0 Washer Serial number CM4823083
The Lid Switch Assembly (AP3100003) went out. The part was ordered and reinstalled. Now, however, whenever the cycle gets to rinse the laundry machine just buzzes. So now the dial must be manually set to the spin cycle in order to finish doing the laundry (without a rinse). Is the problem the Motor? The motor coupling? The timer? Or something else entirely?

If the machine will go through the complete wash cycle, including fill, agitate, drain and spin then that suggests there is nothing wrong mechanically with the machine and that the problem is the timer.
Try replacing it, and if you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it.
Good luck.

Why do you think the timer went out at the same time the switch broke?

I don't know, the two are unrelated. It could be just coincidence, or it may not be the timer at all and there may be something in the wiring.
Let's see what happens when you replace the timer.
