I need to check to see if I need a new timer. The problem is I can't remove the start button to get to the screws that are behind it. Before I was able to pull on the start button because it seemed to be sticking. Dirty maybe? So when I close the dryer door and have it set on dry, the dryer automatically starts. Had to disable buzzer, wouldn't stop.

I think on this unit the timer knob has a cap in the center that should pry off. Then under the cap is a nut that must be remover to remove the knob from the timer. Perhaps the following parts breakdown from Maytag may be helpful to you. http://www.maytag.com/digitalas...t%20List%20-%20DE382.pdf |

Thank you for helping me out! I took apart start button, cleaned all around, same thing happened. When I turn the knob on dry and close the door it automatically starts the dryer, I don't even push the start! Guess I need a new timer!
